President Ian gave his toast to Past President Brian Hole for all the work he has undertaken within and for Rotary. Well done Brian.
He also touched on the visit to Currie Bros last week, noting what an interesting place this was to visit.
He sang the praises of Les Miserable and what an exceptional show it was. We have some extraordinary talent in this area. He also sang the praises of David Denning for his work on set construction, Ashley Cleaver for his amazing photography and Kylie Cleaver for her role in production of this play.
David Denning advised that our Rotary Club has been approached to provide the BBQ at the Carols In the Park on 9 December 2018 at 5.00pm. Club member assistance is required. Could you please let David know if you can assist in any way.
He also noted that we have a Bunnings BBQ on 15 December 2018 where we will need Club Member assistance also. Please let him know if you are able to help on this day.
Murray Difford brought us up to date with respect to the Public Speaking Contest advising that we have now selected 3 candidates to attend the semi final in Walcha on 23 February 2019.
Neal Hanington gave us an overview of where we are up to with respect to the CCTV. He also spoke to us with respect to the 202 National Scientific Challenge. A
meeting is to be held on Wednesday night regarding this. There will be approximately 300 people attending the actual event.
All our best wishes to Herb on a speedy recovery from surgery on his shoulder. Get well soon, we miss your smiling face, and your sense of humour, at our meetings.
Mark Drury advised that our Christmas Party will be held on 10 December 2018 at the Race Course. Please RSVP by 3 December 2018. This is a fundraiser for The Samaritans. If you could bring a gift along, specifically for a child, so that these can be given to families going through difficult times.
Wayne Robards then read a lovely card from the School of St Judes thanking us for all our help over the past year.
We then commenced our AGM.
